Richard Agar: appeared before a tribunal on Tuesday
Hull head coach Richard Agar will have to wait a week to discover if he will be punished for his comments about referee James Child.
Agar gave evidence to a tribunal in Leeds on Tuesday, after he was charged with breaching the Rugby Football League’s Respect policy for claiming Child was “100%” the reason why his side lost at home to Castleford on April 1.
Agar was accompanied by his lawyer, while the tribunal also heard representations from Child and match commissioner Steve Cross, but the tribunal chairman announced he would take seven days to consider all the evidence before announcing his decision.
The hearing was due to be staged last week but was adjourned at Hull’s request.
Two years ago Hull KR coach Justin Morgan was fined £4,000, half of it suspended, for his scathing criticism of referee Ben Thaler.
