Victory March For Jesus’ Resurrection

A victorious march in streets of the nation’s capital by Christians marked the turning point of the resurrection of Jesus Christ on monday April 24. In the early hours, drum beats with chants of joy and happiness could be heard in almost every neighbourhood as Christians danced and conveyed in their various churches to end a 40-day fasting period that culminated with activities marking the rebirth of Christ Jesus.

Members of the Etoug-Ebe Baptist Church, EBC, danced from Obili roundabout, Acacia, the Handicapped Centre and, converged at Carrefour Biyem-Assi roundabout. As they moved to the church premises, dancing and shouting for the victory of Jesus over death, their voices could be heard from afar.

The Senior Pastor of the EBC, Rev. Dr Philemon Nfor told Cameroon Tribune that the victory march is one of the most important feasts in Christendom when God got mankind from darkness to light by bringing His son to die in the place of man. The pastor in his sermon from Romans 8:9-17 on power, urged his faithful to enjoy the power and joy of Jesus’s resurrection.

Prior to celebrations marking Jesus’ resurrection, Rev. Pastor Paul Meme of the Etoug-Ebe Baptist Church enjoined faithful, to accept to suffer for righteousness, persevere in the fight and above all, love one another sacrificially.

In his sermon from I Peter 2:21, Paul Meme told Christians that they have to suffer when they are fighting for a just cause. He said faithful should follow the example of Christ who was arrested, molested, betrayed, insulted, and nailed to the point of dead for mankind.
