The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has charged the National U-23 team otherwise called ‘The Dream Team’ to go all out for victory in this weekend’s first round second leg All Africa games qualifier against Liberia inside the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

NFF Deputy General Secretary (Technical) Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme gave the charge Monday, when he visited the team’s camp at ISNO Hotel, GRA Benin City.

“We know what you went through in Monrovia but you did not break despite their antics. Now is the time for you to show your opponents that you are far better than them. And in doing that you need to beat them convincingly on Saturday,” Ikpeme said.

He told the team that the Football House was proud of their results so far, warning that they should not be complacent or underrate their opponent.

“I must tell you, the Football House is proud of your results so far, you have played three games scored ten goals let in two; posted two victories and one away draw. Very good results but don’t allow this good run get into your heads,” he appealed.

Dr Ikpeme, who also watched the team’s Monday morning session at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, expressed confidence that the Dream Team would outwit their foes this weekend.

“With what I have seen this morning, I must say I have a lot of confidence that you would deliver come Saturday.”

Responding, Team Captain, Kingsley Udoh assured that he and his colleagues with the support of the technical crew will make Nigerians proud on Saturday.

“I want to assure you sir that we know what’s at stake and we are resolved to make Nigerians proud this weekend. We went through a horrible time in Monrovia but we picked a point; now that we are home we want revenge and that we would get on the field of play on Saturday,” the Heartland strong man declared.

He added: “If for nothing, we will be playing for our fallen colleague, Olubayo Adefemi and we are going to win for him.”
