Zenit St Petersburg have confirmed that they would be willing to re-sign Arsenal‘s Andrey Arshavin.

The Russian has come under some criticism for failing to deliver consistent performances this season, and has in the past been linked with moves away from the club.

Now Zenit’s director Igor Korneev has admitted that they would be willing to welcome back the fleet-footed attacker, should the Gunners decide to let him go during the summer.

“Zenit’s doors are always open for Andrey,” he told talkSPORT.

“If his situation at Arsenal does not improve and he’s not comfortable in London, we can study this issue in time for next season.”

Arshavin signed with Arsenal in 2009 after a fee believed to be in the region of £15 million had been agreed with Zenit.
