Zambia appears to be well endowed with armchair critics who have taken it their responsibility to criticise any Government initiative notwithstanding its benefits to the people.
We have in mind the mobile hospitals which not too long ago, attracted condemnation by the well known critics despite Government belabouring to explain that the clinics were particularly meant to service the rural outposts where medical facilities are far apart.
In their usual style, the opposition with some civil society organisations tried to whip up people’s emotions to join in criticising the initiative.
But it is gratifying that the stakeholders who include the beneficiaries and health practitioners have since seen the benefits of having the mobile clinics.
Today the Public Health Partnership Forum has urged President Banda not to be distracted by people criticising his efforts in ensuring a healthy nation.
Even the Zambia Union of Nurses Organisation and the Resident Doctors of Zambia have applauded this Government initiative because they see the suffering of the people.
They are better placed to criticise than some opposition politicians sitting in air conditioned offices just speaking for the sake of earning a vote from the people.
