Swamibapa captain Joseph Angara wants his batsmen to show substantial improvement in the Cutchi Leva Sixes cricket tournament that starts today.
Former champions Swamibapa lost to traditional rivals Kanbis last year and fans were of the view it was the failure of the team’s batsmen that caused the disappointing loss.
Angara is now hoping his side will show improvement. Swamibapa have lost Maurice Ouma, Steve Tikolo and Nehemiah Odhiambo from the team that won in 2009. They will however welcome Peter Ongondo who didn’t play last year.
Kanbis batsman Ramesh Mepani has equally asked his colleagues to be ready for war as the tournament will not be easy. “Ultimately, until the end of the tournament, we will be at war with each other. Each side know that, at the end of the tournament, one team is going to be feted as heroes and the rest will have failed in their task,”Mepani said.
