The governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has warned the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state against rigging in the Tuesday governorship/state assembly election.
Ladoja gave the warning at a news conference in Ibadan on Saturday.
The former governor declared that “It is rig and roast.”
He warned that nobody should do anything to pervert the wish of the people in the election. Ladoja said the people of the state were resolute and ready to defend their votes.
“The situation today will not allow any rigging. It is rig and roast. They tried it before and they got away with it. But, this time around, it is not a politics of ludo game. This time around, if you try to rig the election, you are going to be roasted. We will not be intimidated,” he declared.
He encouraged the people in the state to vote massively for him to escape another four years of repression and retrogression.
Ladoja again faulted the Ibadan Elders’ Forum for endorsing Senator Abiola Ajimobi of the Action Congress of Nigeria as the governor.
He said the people of the state should be allowed to elect their leaders.
“They are jokers. They are just playing on people’s intelligence. After the election, they will still come back to me. They are looking for way out for their paymasters. They are leading Ajimobi to the slaughter slab so that they can destroy his reputation,” he explained.
