Germany international Lukas Podolski has made it clear that he’s very happy at Koln and is not thinking about leaving the Bundesliga side any time soon.

“Being at Koln does me good. It’s my club, it’s my town. If it’s up to me, I’ll still be here next season,” the highly rated attacker was quoted as saying by Bild.

“Where I’d go if I opted to leave after all? Without wanting to sound arrogant, I could succeed at a big European club, in England or Spain.”

Koln are currently battling against relegation and head coach Frank Schaefer will leave the club this summer. Podolski is hopeful that things will be less eventful next season.

“At this club it’s always a circus. At Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Hannover, there are no huge stars but there’s a philosophy and everyone pulls in the same direction.”

The 25-year-old attacker has scored 12 Bundesliga goals this term and has climbed to 468th spot in the Castrol EDGE Rankings.
