Germany coach Joachim Low has praised Hannover’s Ron-Robert Zieler, leading to speculation that the goalkeeper could be in line for a call-up to the national side.

Low was in attendance for Hannover’s 3-1 away victory over Freiburg on Thursday with the tactician choosing to visit the Dreisamstadion on a visit to his hometown.

“The Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler is great, he’s really good and has a lot of class,” the coach is reported as saying in Bild.

Zieler, a former Manchester United youth team player, has been a revelation since making his Hannover debut in the 3-0 victory over Frankfurt on January 16.

The 22-year-old has recently been linked with a host of Bundesliga clubs including Werder Bremen and Hamburg, while Schalke are also a potential destination for the shot-stopper with Manuel Neuer expected to depart the club in the summer.

Low was also keen to state that he believes Hannover are strong enough for the Champions League, if the club hold off Bayern Munich to finish third in the league.

“Hannover are playing stronger than ever. They should not worry about next season if the club qualify for Europe. The club have plenty of quality.”

The German national side are next in action on May 29 where they will entertain Uruguay in a friendly international, a repeat of the 2010 World Cup third-place play-off that Germany won 3-2. Low is expected to name an experimental squad that could see Zieler included.
