Rafael Benitez says he is ready to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea and believes he can bring the best out of Fernando Torres once again.
Ancelotti has just one year remaining on his Chelsea contract and has failed to win a trophy this year which has led to speculation that he is set to be sacked at the end of the season.
Benitez is currently available after leaving Inter in December and has set his sights on a return to the Premier League.
The Guardian reports that Benitez could be in line for the job this summer after winning the Champions League during his six-year spell at Liverpool – that competition having long been top of Roman Abramovich’s trophy wish list.
Benitez says he has had lots of offers to return to management, though he has set his sights on a return to the English top-flight.
“If I have good offers from abroad it will be OK, but my priority is to return to the Premier League,” Benitez told The Guardian earlier this month.
