    FANTASY LEAGUE STOCK MARKET

We’re clearing out the dead wood this week. Take a peek at our outside-the-box selections – you’ll love them.

    GOALKEEPER

    Buy
    Scott Carson – West Brom

The Baggies are travelling to White Hart Lane this weekend but we’re tipping this chap to keep Peter Crouch and his chums at bay. It’ll cost £4 million for his services.

    Sell
    Simon Mignolet – Sunderland

He’s cheap, but not a good cheap. Sunderland are now without a win in nine games and are leaking like a paper umbrella at the back. Recoup your £3.9m and move on.

    DEFENDER

    Buy
    Jose Enrique – Newcastle

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on the signing of this guy and we recommend you do the same. Newcastle are starting to look sturdy at the back, while the £4.7m man has the mentality to venture forward, so there could be an assist or two coming your way before the end of the season.

    Sell
    Kolo Toure – Manchester City

Amazingly, 7.6 per cent of you have the Ivorian in your side, despite him being banned for over a month. Worth getting rid as he’s does not look like returning this season. You’ll get back a princely £6.2m too.

    MIDFIELDER

    Buy
    Salomon Kalou – Chelsea

Frustrating at times but the Ivorian shows flashes of the potential which is required to keep Fernando Torres out of the side. Kalou has started to hit form, scoring two in his last two outings, and we reckon the £7.1m man has a few more left in him before the campaign ends.

    Sell
    Joe Cole – Liverpool

It’s official – inflation has gripped Fantasy Football. Our jaws dropped as we saw this guy is valued at a staggering £8.3m, but they fell even further when we noticed 1.4% of you are still keeping the faith in him. Those guys have one expensive benchwarmer.

    STRIKER

    Buy
    Bobby Zamora – Fulham

Mark Hughes’s side are playing twice this gameweek. Therefore this chap has two opportunities to rack up precious points. £6.1m is reasonable too.

    Sell
    Michael Owen – Manchester United

Could it be the same 1.4% who are sticking by Joe Cole have this guy in their side too? Owen’s far, far down the pecking order at Old Trafford yet he’s costing you £7.3m. Considering Javier Hernandez costs half a million less, we know who we’d rather have.

    TREATMENT TABLE

Some of your crocked favourites are close to a return, but there’s bad news for Manchester City fans.
Mikel ArtetaWhispers about this guy returning against Manchester United this weekend may have some truth. Keep a close eye on him.
Tim CahillThe Australian is out for at least another fortnight.
Ryan NelsenThe Blackburn Rovers warhorse is out for the season.
    Glen Johnson

You’ll be without the full-back until May as he’s picked up a hamstring injury.

    Carlos Tevez

Roberto Mancini has conceded the Argentine’s Premier League season is all but over.

    Dimitar Berbatov

Missed United’s clash with Newcastle with a groin injury and he’s still a doubt. Worth keeping an eye on.

    Scott Parker

Avram Grant looked like he’d lost his favourite childhood toy as he explained his talisman will miss at least another two weeks.

    Kevin Doyle

If you’ve got this guy as a back-up striker, get rid. He’s out for the season.

    WHO YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD…

Little surprise there’s a few Chelsea players making up last week’s top performers. Reckon Carlo Ancelotti will put ‘Operation: Get Torres to Score’ on ice until next season?

    FIRST NAME ON THE TEAMSHEET

Last week Robin van Persie was our pick and he ended up with 13 points. We’re abandoning our frivolous bargain buys and opting for the expensive approach once more.
    Didier Drogba | Chelsea

Well, hasn’t he made Ancelotti look a fool? Torres is kicking his £50m heels on the bench while the Ivorian racks up the points.

We’re hoping the Italian sticks to his guns and keeps this chap in his side for their game against West ham this weekend.

He’s £12.2m, mind. But if he scores anything like he did against West Brom, you’re league position is in for a boosting.
