Diaby: Picked up a calf strain against Tottenham and may miss upcoming clash with Man Utd
Abou Diaby is a ‘big doubt’ for Arsenal’s upcoming title showdown with Manchester United due to a calf strain.
The midfielder suffered the problem during Wednesday’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur and was replaced early in the second half by Jack Wilshere.
He has been ruled out of Sunday’s game away to Bolton Wanderers, but is also a major concern for the following week’s visit of Premier League leaders United.
“Yes, we lost Abou Diaby as you have seen in the game against Tottenham,” confirmed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
“Diaby looks to have a calf strain so he is out for Sunday and certainly is a big doubt for Man Utd.
“As for anybody else, I haven’t seen the players because they were off yesterday Thursday. I will see them later.”
France international Diaby has endured an interrupted season due to injury and has been restricted to just 15 appearances in the Premier League.
He only recently returned from a month out with a groin problem and is now in line to miss key games during Arsenal’s quest for a first league title since 2004.
