Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho: Inter’s Season Is No Disaster

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has told former team Inter not to give up following a less than perfect season which has seen the club lose touch with the Champions League and Scudetto.

The Pinetina side won a historic treble under Mourinho last year, but that has failed to lift them this season as it was eliminated from Europe by Schalke, and is currently eight points behind Milan in Serie A.

However, ever the motivator, the ‘Special One’ offered his former club advice.

“I tell Inter that this season isn’t a disaster if they don’t win any silverware,” he told Mediaset.

“They must rebuild for the next campaign and get back to winning ways, because it remains my Inter.

“President Massimo Moratti and his collaborators are very smart and Leonardo is a coach who can go far.

“What counts now is securing second place in Serie A and winning the Coppa Italia.”

Real Madrid return to the Mestalla, the scene of last night’s Copa del Rey triumph, at the weekend and will be hoping to defeat Valencia in an attempt to claw back La Liga leaders Barcelona’s eight-point lead with six games to go.

Inter meanwhile take on Lazio on Saturday afternoon at San Siro.
