Stoke City manager Tony Pulis calls for club to regain focus on the league after FA Cup semi-final victory

They may have just secured their place in their first ever FA Cup final but Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has called on his players to forget about their cup exploits and concentrate on retaining their Premier League status for next season.

The Potters reached the final after a 5-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers but they are still not safe in the battle against relegation and Pulis knows they need to turn their form around quickly.

Stoke are currently 13th in the league, but only five points above Blackpool and have not won in three matches, something Pulis wants to change to keep his long term plan on course.

“We have a plan in place, we want to build gradually and slowly,” he said.

“But if we get relegated we will be devastated.”

“We have to make sure we regain our focus on the league. We are desperately keen to finish in the top half, that is our main aim.”

Stoke have to face four teams from around them in the league – Aston Villa, Blackpool, Wolves and Wigan – in their remaining six games of the season.
