Ghana News Agency has two Managing Directors

    Nana Appau Dua is the embattled General Manager Information reaching Adom News indicates that the General Manger of Ghana News Agency (GNA), Nana Appau Dua, who was asked by the Board to proceed on leave, has returned to office on the instructions of the National Media Commission.

    This means that the GNA now has two bosses, the embattled Nana Appau Duah and the Acting GM, Boakye Danquah Boadi.

    Deputy General Secretary of the Communication Workers Union at GNA, Mr. Lawrence Quartey told Adom News that their former boss walked into the office with a letter from the NMC instructing him to take back his position on a contract basis for 6 years.

    Acting director at the Agency, Mr. Boakye Danquah Boadi now has to either share his duties and privileges with comeback superior Appau or excuse his office for him.

    Following his return, workers have laid down their tools and started an immediate sit down strike in protest of the return of the GM.

    Not long ago workers seized the opportunity at a staff durbar where Information Minister John Tia Akologo and his deputy Baba Jamal were present to lash out at their former boss.

    The workers said the GM had reached his retirement age and that he was also not performing well, leaving the office in a deplorable state.

    People spoke of how the GM has run down the agency over the past four years and allowed the roofs to leak and for rats to infest the Agency.

    Some even shed tears as they expressed their disappointment in the GM.
