Mogadishu — As Somali government was celebrating the commemoration of the 51st anniversary of the establishment of Somali military forces, Al shabaab fighters have targeted Mogadishu’s Villa Baidoa where some of top Somali government officials including the president were present.
At least three people were so far confirmed to have killed in the shelling and more 45 others all innocent civilians were wounded.
The wounded people were rushed to hospital in Mogadishu for treatment, according to eyewitnesses.
It is unknown the aim of Al shabaab had shelled today in parts of the residential neighborhoods in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
Al shabaab has not yet commented on the shelling so far.
