Key players Theo Walcott and Alex Song are both doubts for Arsenal‘s important trip to Blackpool on Sunday, according to the Guardian.

Last weekend marked Walcott’s return from an ankle injury sustained in the 1-0 home victory over Stoke on February 24, a sequence which saw him miss the League Cup final defeat against Birmingham and the Champions League second-round loss against Barcelona.

However, during Saturday’s goalless draw against Blackburn, the winger hurt his ankle once again. He remains a doubt but is rated with a better chance of featuring than Song, who was marred by the re-occurrence of a knee injury he had sustained earlier in the season.

These injuries have hampered the Gunners’ quest for silverware, with defeats in both cup competitions being followed by an FA Cup loss to Manchester United, who have also pulled away at the top of the league and now have a seven point cushion, although they have played a game more.

Arsenal, though, received a boost with captain Cesc Fabregas coming off the bench against Blackburn, while 19-year-old midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong may be ready for a return to the first-team.

The Ghanaian suffered knee ligament damage during pre-season, but has recovered sufficiently to start playing again.
