Highly rated youngster Neymar has caught the attention of Barcelona with his impressive performances for Santos and Brazil in the past couple of months, Spanish daily AS reports.

The Spanish champions are eager to add another attacker to their squad in the summer transfer window and have been previously linked with Villarreal attacker Giuseppe Rossi.

Rossi has supposedly set his sights on a move to Italy, though, prompting Barcelona to turn their attention to Neymar.

The 19-year-old attacker is considered to be a future star of world football and impressed during Brazil’s 2-0 friendly win over Scotland at the weekend.

However, Barca face stiff competition in the race for Neymar’s signature. Struggling Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly made the player one of their primary targets in the summer transfer market, while Premier League champions Chelsea have also set their sights on the striker, with the player himself expressing his “dream” of playing for the London club.

An offer in the region of £26.3 million could be needed to lure the Brazil international away from his current club.
