Inter have admitted Manchester United are targeting Wesley Sneijder, but club president Massimo Moratti has denied the midfielder will leave the San Siro.

The Dutchman, whose contract with the Italian side ends in 2015, has been eyed by Sir Alex Ferguson as a replacement for Paul Scholes.

Reports, however, suggest Manchester United may be dissuaded from making a bid following the 26-year-old’s valuation of £40 million along with £140,000-a-week wages.

“The interest from Manchester United in Sneijder is real,” said Moratti, according to The Daily Mirror. “But I didn’t look into it. My only interest is seeing Sneijder play here for many more years to come.”

Sneijder is currently placed 106th in the Castrol Rankings, up from 170th in the previous month.
