Ghana, on top of Group I with superior goal difference, need a win to strengthen their quest of playing at the tournament to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Appiah, who captained the Black Stars to two Nations Cup finals, has told the current set-up to be on their mettle.
“They should play team work and not individual play. They should not be selfish because they need to get the three points which is the most important thing. I think that the result will be positive for them if they do all these,” Appiah is quoted by Citifmonline.com
Appiah also expressed his excitement about the upcoming friendly with England and was hopeful it the results will be good.
“I am still a Ghanaian although I am not with the team anymore. But if they win against England which is a friendly game it will be good for all of us because we have been waiting for this day. I am giving my support to the team 120 percent and I will follow them wherever they are even on the internet and I wish them good luck.”
Ghana’s squad have been in Nairobi, Kenya fining tune their preparations for the match.
