Catterick has made 15 appearances for his boyhood club |
Newcastle Falcons half-back Tom Catterick has signed a new two-year contract at Kingston Park.
The 20-year-old joined his boyhood team as a 14-year-old and has since progressed to first-team level, making 15 appearances for Alan Tait’s side.
“It was an easy decision to make, it’s a great set-up at the club,” Catterick told BBC Newcastle.
“We get the chance to play at Kingston Park, and there are not many grounds I would rather be at to be honest.”
Catterick added: “We get chances to train with the first-team every day, people like Jimmy Gopperth, Jeremy Manning, and it helps us come through every day.”

The Darlington-born fly-half has proved a useful weapon for coach Tait this season, having operated in a number of roles for the Falcons.
“Tom is a good young lad,” Tait said.
“He’s had a nasty injury a few months ago when he broke his jaw in a couple of places, but he’s going to be a good player.
“He’s a utility player at the moment, he’s playing full-back, he likes to play at fly-half and I wouldn’t have any problems putting him on the wing because he’s got pace and runs good lines.
“I’m glad he’s staying here.”
