Zinedine Zidane: Roma’s Jeremy Menez Could Be My Successor At Juventus

Former Juventus star Zinedine Zidane returned to Turin on Wednesday evening for a match between Juventus and Torino legends and the Frenchman took some time after the game to discuss the current difficulties for la Vecchia Signora.

“It hurts to see Juventus in a situation like this. A team like Juve must always win and things need to get back like they were before,” said Zidane to reporters.

“A lot of things have changed recently and those changes need some time. I hope that the team will be great again very soon. When you’re Juventus, you’re Juventus forever.”

The former playmaker also discussed the possible arrival of Lille winger Eden Hazard and said that he’d rather see Juventus make a move for Roma midfielder Jeremy Menez.

“Hazard is a great player, but I’m not sure whether he’s the right man to be my successor at Juve. Menez meanwhile would fit in very well and could play at Juventus.”

The Bianconeri are currently in seventh place in Serie A, 11 points off the Champions League play-off spot.
