The University of Ibadan Centre for Sustainable Development is organising a one-week course on mentoring and succession planning in public sector organisations.
According to a statement by the Director of the centre, Prof. Labode Popoola, the course would provide a “systematic approach to mentoring and succession, using modern tools and principles to engage the drivers of the public sector, with a view to re-engineering and repositioning the sector for effective and efficient service delivery that will enhance sustainable development.”
Popoola, in the statement said the target audience were directors-general, permanent secretaries, directors, departmental and sectional heads in government parastatals.
He added that the programme would be in four modules with each focusing on the role of the public sector in national development, underdevelopment of societies, mentoring for public service efficiency and success planning.
