Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas wants to come back from his latest injury ‘stronger than ever’ and has targeted the Premier League clash with Blackburn Rovers on April 2 for his return.

Fabregas suffered a hamstring injury in Arsenal’s 3-1 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League on March 8, and has since missed the club’s FA Cup exit to Manchester United and the draw with West Brom.

The Spanish international has had a longstanding hamstring problem, but is determined to return from this latest injury lay-off better than ever.

“Everything is getting better,” Fabregas said on a Twitcam broadcast.

“It’s been a weird season for me with injuries and I just want to make it right, and I want to come back stronger than ever and fitter than ever so that it won’t happen again. Hopefully you will see me against Blackburn if I’m fit.”

Arsene Wenger will certainly be hoping that Fabregas will be fit to return against Blackburn, as with only nine games of the season left, his side trail Manchester United by five points, albeit with a game in hand.
