Tom Huddlestone is expected to return from four months on the sidelines when Tottenham tackle Wigan in the Premier League on 2nd April.
The England international, who underwent ankle surgery back in November, returned to full training with the White Hart Lane club on Friday.
And Spurs boss Harry Redknapp believes the international break will give the 24-year-old ample time to build up his fitness ahead of the clash at the DW Stadium.
“Tom’s a fantastic footballer and it’s great to have him back training,” Redknapp told his club’s official website.
Work
“We’ve two weeks now where we can really work with him and hopefully get him ready for the next game.
“There is no reason why he shouldn’t make that with a fortnight’s training.”
Huddlestone’s absence has seen summer signing Sandro stake his claim for the holding midfield spot, while he will also face competition from the likes of Luka Modric, Jermaine Jenas and Wilson Palacios.
Redknapp added: “Yes, Sandro has done well and we’ve JJ, Wilson.
“They are all good players and Tom is another good player, so it’s good to have him back.”
