Qatar-based Opoku Agyemang has confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com he will join Ghana’s training camp in Nairobi, Kenya on Thursday.
His side, Al Ahli, resisted to release the winger but rescinded their decision after talks with the Ghana FA which threatened to report the club to Fifa.
The 21-year-old has been told he can leave for international duty after tonight’s league match against Al Wakra at home.
He was prevented from boarding a flight on Tuesday at the Doha International Airport by Immigration officials after officials of the club refused to approve his departure.
“Everything is sorted out now and I hope to arrive in Nairobi by Thursday so I can train with the team. They didn’t want me to come because of their position on the league but the GFA and the club have reached an agreement,” Agyemang told GHANAsoccernetc.com
Agyemang is on a three-month loan spell at Wakra who are at the foot of the Qatar Stars League.
He has not played for the Black Stars since February when he featured at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
The Ghana squad have been preparing since Tuesday and will leave for Brazzaville on Saturday a day before the match.
