The Police Administration has interdicted four more police officers for various acts of unprofessional conduct.

As part of the image cleansing campaign launched by the police Administration in 2010, a special operation was initiated into some police cells to check some wrong practices going on there.

This led to the interdiction of some officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, the Nima Police Station, and the Accra Police Station.

On Friday March 18 2011, the operation was extended to other police stations, where an offence of dereliction of duty was found on the part of some officers.

Consequently, four policemen from the Railways police station, the Tema Harbour and Ashaiman, have been interdicted, bringing to 21 officers interdicted so far.

In a statement issued on Monday March 21, and copied to Citifmonline.com, the police administration indicated that other phases of the image cleansing campaign have been lined up for execution.

The police administration said it is committed to rid the service of all miscreants and bring it up to the level of international best practices the world over.

The Acting Director of Police Public Affairs, DSP Cephas Arthur, has thus called on members of the public to cooperate with the police to enable the Service serve them better.
