Emmanuel Afranie is not impressed with the quality play by Hearts and Kotoko

Veteran Ghanaian coach Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie is unconvinced with the performance of giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko insisting the quality of the game has deteriorated in the country.

The two biggest clubs played-out a sell-out game at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League derby.

Kotoko stunned their perennial rivals 0-2 on goals from Ivorian import Ahmed Toure and captain Daniel Nii Adjei

But Afranie who has previously coached both clubs claims their performance was not good enough to market the game in Ghana.

“Kotoko won and that what matters in football but honestly the quality of the game itself was nothing to write home about. In my opinion it wasn’t a game that can really sell the local league to the rest of Africa and the world,” Afranie said.

“Matches involving the two team have always been difficult but from what I saw at the stadium, there are still question marks about the level of depth and quality on the local league especially if the two biggest clubs in the country play like this.”
