Leicester City have completed the signing of Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara on loan until the end of the season after days of negotiations between the two clubs.

The Senegalese striker hasn’t featured much of late for the Cottagers and Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is said to have been extremely keen to bring another striker into the club as they look to step up their challenge for a playoff berth.

The deal was confirmed on the club’s website with Eriksson delighted have brought in an extra striker to supplement current striker Yakubu – also on loan.

Eriksson told the club’s official website: “Diomansy is a quality striker and will be a great addition to our team. He brings with him pace, good technical ability and of course, Premier League quality.

“I am sure he will settle in well and will be an exciting player for the club.”

Eriksson had been eager for quite some time to add quality to the team no matter what position they play in.

“If it is someone like him or someone with the same abilities, who we feel can help the team to ride higher in the table, we will do it, whether it is a striker, defender or midfielder,” he told The Leicester Mercury.
