Uganda national volleyball coach Tom Mutebi has named the team to play at the All Africa Games qualifiers that get underway on Thursday in Kigali, Rwanda.

Mutebi made the selection after watching his team humble a select side 3-0 at Makerere University Business School (Mubs) grounds on Saturday.

Players on the 14-man tentative squad to be trimmed depending on the availability of funds, will play another friendly game against Ndejje University Sharing Youth grounds, Nsambya today.

Despite the arrangements to have the team travel to Kigali, Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) are still financially challenged.

“Uganda Olympic Committee cleared the registration but we still have a few issues to handle,” UVF technical director Godwin Ssenyondo said. UVF are hoping that National Council of Sports and sports commissioner Dan Tamwesigire come to their rescue by today.

    Squad: T. Lakony (captain), N. Dheyongera, D. Opio, E. Kato, D. Otim, J.Endra, A. Gaayi, M. Waiswa, G. Tamale, A. Nduhukire, M. Okiror, J.
