“To go through against difficult opponents signifies that our two performances have been excellent and this display tonight was brilliant,” Cazorla was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.
Cazorla wasn’t getting carried away after his side’s win though and pointed out that it’s still a long way to the final.
“It’s all very well defeating powerful rivals like Leverkusen but there are still quarter and semi-finals to go before you can reach your objective of the final.”
The Spain international picked out the likes of Porto, Benfica and PSV as the favourites to win the tournament.
“This is a long tournament where now only difficult opponents lie in wait – Porto, PSV and Benfica. Getting one step closer to achieving something important really motivates us.”
