“It’s a pretty good draw for us. We are playing Schalke, who are going through a difficult time at the moment. They’re all good teams and Schalke are no different, but we have to be happy,” Figo was quoted as saying by Eurosport.
The former Nerazzurri winger went on to point out that Schalke shouldn’t be underestimated though.
“Their game will suit us. I respect them as an opponent. There’s no doubt about that and they shouldn’t be underestimated.
“However, if we play to the best of our ability, we can win. Inter expect to win this game as we are obviously defending champions. People expect good performances from us. We’ve had our moments in this campaign and our performances have improved. We have done very well of late.”
The Portugal legend is eagerly anticipating meeting his former Real Madrid team-mate Raul again.
“Raul is a very good friend of mine. I know him very well and I hope I will be celebrating with him after the game. I am happy that he is doing so well in the Bundesliga. He’s a great player and a great talent.”
