Who will win the Champions League quarter-final tie – Chelsea or Manchester United?

The Champions League draw for the quarter-finals has given us four ties, one of which is Chelsea versus Manchester United.

The winners from this tie will play the victor of the quarter final between Inter and Schalke. On the other side of the draw, Barcelona play Shakhtar and Real Madrid tackle Tottenham.

Barcelona are favourites to win the Champions League at 2.10, followed by Real Madrid and then Chelsea. The rank outsiders are Shakhtar at 33/1.

Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti has won the Champions League twice as a player and twice as a manager too. If he is going to make it five in total, he will have to do it the hard way. The Blues have refound their form after a disastrous spell before Christmas, and they boast a mean defence through Petr Cech, John Terry and Ashley Cole as well as offensive dangermen like Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres.

This may be one of the most ordinary Manchester United group of individuals in the last 20 years, but as a team they are still as formidable as ever as they are still on track for the treble. Sir Alex Ferguson builds his team around the defensive rock that is Nemanja Vidic, ably supported by 40-year-old goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar and left-back Patrice Evra. Not forgetting outfield oldies Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.
