GRACE Madegwa guided Kenya women to an impressive 31-17 win over Ethiopia as the team moved closer to booking a ticket to the All Africa Games in Mozambique in September. In a two team affair, Kenya can afford to lose the last encounter against the same team tomorrow by less than 14 goals and still realise their dream of making it to the Pan Africa spectacle.
Stabua Noor fired Kenya into an early lead but Ethiopia equalised through Zenash Dokle before Helen Nzisa found the target again. But it looked a tough assignment until veteran Madegwa checked in to co-ordinate Kenya moves from the centre.
She hit a penalty in the 12th minute for a 4-2 advantage but again Wendsichu Esefu score drew the losers close 3-4. Then in a well executed move, Madegwa scored, fed Brenda Musambai for another and scored again as Kenya broke away 8-6. Keeper Caroline Kusa saved a penalty on the stroke of half time with Kenya up 11-7. After the break, Kenyans never looked back.
