Francesco Totti: Our Objective Is Champions League Qualification

Roma captain Francesco Totti has underlined the importance of their derby win against Lazio in Serie A on Sunday, and is aiming for a top-four finish that will see them qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The 34-year-old scored both goals in the Lupi’s 2-0 victory that saw them close the gap on their city rivals to two points and edge within four of fourth-place Udinese.

Writing on his official website, Totti enthused about the triumph but also pointed out that they need to make sure that they keep on winning in order to make a return to Europe’s top table in 2011-12, starting with Fiorentina this weekend.

“We are enjoying this success for a moment,” stated the Italian veteran. “But then we’ll quickly start looking towards our objectives.

“We absolutely have to get into the Champions League next year. We’ll do everything to reach the top four positions in the League. For this reason, we’ll go to Florence with every intention of winning the game.”
