Ferguson: Tough week

Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he was feeling sorry for himself after enduring a controversial week.
The Manchester United manager faced the media ahead of what will be a combustible FA Cup tie against Arsenal on Saturday.
Ferguson had been mute following his charge by the Football Association for his comments directed against referee Martin Atkinson in the aftermath of United’s defeat to Chelsea.
In response, he imposed a media blackout before and after the Liverpool game, in which they were comprehensively beaten 3-1, which only served to crank up the pressure on his team.
Charged
Arsene Wenger himself has been in conflict with the authorities having been charged by Uefa following a row over Robin van Persie’s red card against Barcelona.
So when asked if he had sympathy for his opposite number, the Scot could only find some for himself.
“I have sympathy for myself. I didn’t have an easy week myself,” he said.
Ferguson, however, did not expand further on the subject and instead chose to look ahead to the rest of the campaign.
Challenges
“You have to look forward. We have big opportunities at the club and there are a lot of challenges ahead for the rest of the season,” he said.
“It is terrific to be involved in the middle of March. Every game you play is of importance.
“We have Tuesday’s game against Marseille and Bolton in a league game next weekend. It goes on and on.
“That is why you get to March and hope you are going to be involved in all these things. We are.”
