League One’s game of the weekend sees a South Coast clash between promotion challenging Bournemouth and Southampton at Dean Court on Saturday.

The Saints trail the Cherries by just three points in the division and would move above their opponents on goal difference should they be victorious.

Leaders Brighton host Tranmere as they look to maintain or extend the seven-point gap at the top of the division, with the visitors having not won in their last six games and the Seagulls on a run of three straight victories.

Third placed Huddersfield are in good form as they go to struggling Bristol Rovers, who despite winning their last game are still in the relegation zone.

Peterborough host Carlisle as Darren Ferguson’s team look to continue their excellent run of late, winning five of their last six to sit comfortably within the top six places.

Bottom side Swindon could go level on points with Dagenham & Redbridge should they gain a vital victory at The County Ground, with the Robins on an awful run of form having not won since the turn of the year.

Charlton host Brentford at The Valley as the home side look to keep their faint play-off hopes alive, but an awful run of form of late has seen them drop out of the running, whilst the visitors have lost their last two.

    Consolidate

Sixth placed MK Dons make the short trip to Colchester as they look to consolidate their position in the play-off places, where they sit eight points clear of seventh-placed Leyton Orient.

Leyton Orient host Oldham, who could move a point behind the home side if they can turn around what has been a dreadful run of late and saw them fall out of the play-off places they occupied at the turn of the year.

Troubled Sheffield Wednesday have lost just one of their last four, with Gary Megson seemingly raising some hope at Hillsborough, and they will be keen to continue their run at home to Notts County.

Plymouth, who recently went into administration, are battling on despite being in the relegation zone, with Peter Reid’s men hopeful of gaining something out of a tricky visit to mid-table Hartlepool.

Walsall will move out of the drop zone and overtake their opponents should they beat Yeovil at Huish Park in a game between two sides desperate to get out of trouble.

Mid-table Rochdale host Exeter with just one point and one place separating them in 14th and 13th respectively.
