Gross Winners — The youngsters including January winner Emmanuel Onito Opio had predicted success but it was the wise old men who stole the show at the MTN February Mug played at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club Kitante course on Saturday.

Nineteen-year-old Opio, a national amateur team vice captain, endured a rare failure with a round off 80 gross and his fellow comrade Brian Toolit, who dictated the professionals’ pace in January, shot a 77 to finish joint sixth with rookie Brian Mwesigwa out of 12 elite players.

Hard working Herman Mutawe fired level-par 72 for 120 points to win the professionals category.
