Russell Brand: I Was Ready to Be Tamed by Marriage

Russell Brand may have had a wild streak in his younger days, but says he was more than happy to give all that up for love and marriage with Katy Perry.

“I think I was ready for it,” Brand, 35, says of married life in Redbook’s April issue, on newsstands March 15. “If you’re wild, like a wild animal, marriage won’t contain you. I think that’s how a lot of people get into trouble.”

Brand will soon star in a remake of the comedy Arthur, about a man who gives up a vast fortune for love – and says that’s something he can imagine himself doing.

“I would never give up love; I’d definitely give up money,” he says. “I feel quite lucky – now that I’m married, I have this great love and partnership in my life that is the most important thing to me. I also happen to be married to a girl who is quite a lot of fun.”
