The NPP parliamentary primaries are scheduled for April 30, 2011 but there has been reports of tension mounting in the some constituencies of the party.
Speaking on Asempa FM on Thursday, Anthony Kabo appealed to aspirants contesting the upcoming primaries to cease all acts of violence forthwith and remain calm to give the party time to resolve the differences.
He said the party leadership was aware of the tensions in the various constituencies and will take proactive measures in resolving the problems but urged the aspirants to use the party structures in getting their concerns addressed than the media who might escalate the problem.
Anthony Kabo revealed that the party has set up a Conflict Resolution Committee to address the concerns of which may be raised by the aspirants during the primaries.
The Youth Organiser called on the party’s executives to iron out the rough edges between aspirants in the upcoming parliamentary primaries and be fair at all levels so that after the process, winners and losers can join hands, mobilize their supporters and work hard to ensure victory in the constituency, for both presidential and parliamentary elections.
