Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is concerned that defender Ledley King may not be able to cope with his persistent injuries.

The 30-year-old has had a lot of trouble with injuries, and has been unable to feature for the north London outfit since mid-October due to a groin problem.

And the former West Ham boss believes that the defender’s inability to train regularly may have contributed to the problem, and admits King may have trouble putting in the kind of performances he would have been capable of in the past.

“You have to train,” Redknapp said, according to The Times.

“You can’t just come on Saturdays and expect to be the best player.

“Ledley has got away with not training all week and you can’t do that for long. I think now he’s finding it more difficult, as suddenly he’s picked up a few more injuries. He’s got a problem with his groin and we took a gamble with him by putting him on the bench against AC Milan.”
