An industrialist, Chief Molade Okoya Thomas and six other senior members of the Lagos Island Club narrowly escaped arraignment before a Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday for alleged contempt.
Justice Mohammed Idris deferred further steps in the case to March 17 because of the absence of two other senior members of the club against whom a complaint of contemptuous act was made.
Okoya-Thomas; Alhaji M.O Anibaba; Prof. John Godwin; Mr. Francis Akinyanmi; Sir Jide Oki; Mr. Yanju Scott and Mr. Eugene Okon were in court but Chief A. Adejumo and Prof. Adele Jinadu were absent. They are all members of the Caretaker Committee of the Island Club.
