The Ashaiman Circuit Court has remanded into police custody, a self styled Travel and Tour agent, Bright Dotu Rouseau for defrauding by false pretenses.
Narrating the facts of the case, Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Prosper Yao Aheto informed the court that the complainant, Robert Alebina is a Civil Servant with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Accra, while the accused is a self styled travel and tour agent.
According to him, in 2008, Bright introduced himself to the complainant as a travel and tour agent working with OBSIS TRAVEL AND TOUR LIMITED in Accra and he would be able to secure travelling documents such as visas, working permit and a ticket for the complainant to travel to Canada within the shortest possible time.

The accused then demanded and collected GHC 5,270 from the complainant but soon after collecting the money, Bright went into hiding.
After fruitless efforts by the complainant to trace him failed, he formally lodged a complaint with the Ashaiman Divisional Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on July 7, 2010 and on July 10, 2010 the accused was arrested in Ashaiman.
He was arraigned before the Ashaiman Circuit Court where he pleaded not guilty but the court, presided by Justice Seyram Tsatsu Yao remanded him into police custody to re-appear on Friday 11th March, 2011.
