After Chelsea downed Manchester United on Tuesday evening, Goal.com UK asked its readers whether Carlo Ancelotti‘s champions were back in the title race.
David Luiz and Frank Lampard struck to close the gap to the top to 12 points, and with Sir Alex Ferguson still having to take his team to Anfield and the Emirates before May, there could still be time for the Blues to get back into the title race, especially with a game in hand and a trip to Old Trafford still to come.
But a majority of 57.1 per cent of respondents believe the gap is too big for Chelsea to overcome at this stage of the season, with just 11 games left to go.
35.49% believe the manner of the Blues’ victory showed that they have the spirit needed.
And only 7.42% feel that Chelsea would they be in the race had they not beaten United.
