Arsenal lost the League Cup final to Birmingham City on Sunday after a defensive mix-up that saw them concede a late winner.

The match was evenly balanced at one apiece, but a breakdown in communication between Laurent Koscielny and Wojciech Szczesny saw the defender and goalkeeper going for the ball at the same time. And in the confusion that reigned, errors on the part of both players saw Obafemi Martins capitalise and score the winner for his side.

After the heartbreaking loss for the Gunners, Goal.com UK decided to put forward the big question and have YOU predict that which may come to pass, by pondering whether Arsenal will be able to end their six-year trophy drought this season.

And it appears that a mammoth 62.83 per cent of those who responded think that the north London outfit are destined to go through another season without winning anything, having failed to make use of a good opportunity and bring their silverware drought to an end.

However, 14.98% of voters believe that Arsene Wenger’s charges will be able to overcome a four point deficit and overtake Manchester United to win the Premier League.

But 4.26% reckon they will overcome Leyton Orient at the Emirates Stadium before eventually going on to win the FA Cup, perhaps believing that a disappointment in the domestic circuit will spur the side on to glory in another competition.

Only 1.6% of readers believe that the Gunners will go on and win the Champions League, probably thinking that the second leg at Barcelona may be too much to handle in light of the defeat in the final of the League Cup.

An optimistic 16.33%, however, are of the opinion that Arsenal will not only win something this season, but insist that they will win at least two trophies this campaign.
