Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh is furious about the howler that cost his side the League Cup, as Birmingham City scored late on at Wembley to win the competition.
A mix-up between defender Laurent Koscielny and goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny saw the ball land at the feet of Obafemi Martins, who scored to secure a 2-1 win for the Blues with just a minute remaining.
“I don’t hold anything against any player but it’s a shame and stupid to concede a goal like that. We’re so frustrated – and sad and angry,” said Chamakh, according to The Sun.
While Arsenal were unable to end their six-year trophy drought, the League Cup triumph was Birmingham’s first piece of silverware in almost 50 years.
