America’s Ochoa Energized By Win Over Toluca

America could have lowered their shoulders on Sunday against Toluca. After all, las Aguilas had fallen to Argentinos Juniors by 3-1 in a Copa Libertadores match on Thursday.

Instead of sulking, though, America responded with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Toluca at Estadio Azteca.

“It was a very important match that we knew we needed to have won,” Guillermo Ochoa told Mexican daily Record. “We took advantage of having played at home and the benefits the group received – three points against a difficult rival in the middle of a challenging schedule – are great.”

America have another difficult match coming up as Fluminense will visit Estadio Azteca on Wednesday in Copa Libertadores action.

If the club can play as well as they did for their supporters on Sunday, Ochoa said things will be fine.

“The supporters were very happy (on Sunday) and they all left happy,” Ochoa said. “A lot of fans came out and we need to respond with these types of games.”
