Presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has promised to work for the emergence of an Igbo presidency if voted into power.

Speaking while receiving Igbo communities across the country, under the aegis of “Ndigbo for Ribadu 2011” who came to endorse him,Ribadu said he will run an all inclusive government and will uphold fairness and justice to all Nigerians.

“By Gods’ grace, I will do the right thing and do it well for Nigeria. I will never rest until all Nigerians are secure. I will work hard to ensure that we provide jobs for all Nigerians especially the youths. I promise to facilitate the emergence of an Igbo man as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Ribadu said.

He did not, however, state whether the Igbo delegation’s demand for the presidency in 2015 will be met as it might mean spending only one term in office as promised by President Goodluck Jonathan and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) presidential candidate, aen Muhammadu Buhari.

He also said that it is incumbent on Nigerians to effect the change they all yearn for and send the People Democratic Party (PDP) and President Goodluck Jonathan out of Aso Rock.

“I understand that in this country today, we are asking for change. And this change is real, we need it. Why are we calling for this change? We are calling for change because we can do better.  We want security. We want if you leave Onitsha you will be able to drive safely and go to Yola and no armed robber will stop you on the way”, he said.

Leader of the delegation, Eze Igbo of Idu-Gbagyi, Igwe Okey Sokoto Ukatah, said the Igbo people were endorsing Ribadu because the North has not exhausted their tenure pointing out that supporting Ribadu would ensure justice and boos Ndigbo’s chances in 2015.
