The Colorado Rapids could be close to finishing a deal to sign the English-born Irish international striker, Caleb Folan, from Hull City.
“Hopefully, the deal will be concluded over the weekend,” Hull City manager Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio on Thursday.
The coach seemed to take a bit of a shot at the bureaucracy of Major League Soccer.
“Whenever you’re dealing with the MLS, there’s a bit more paperwork to be done, but we’re very close to doing the deal,” Pearson said.
The 6-foot-2 Folan has been trialing with the Rapids over the past month. He has fallen down the depth chart at Hull and is thus likely to be moved.
The Colorado Rapids are the reigning MLS champions.
