In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadjo Owusu Afriyie, his appointment comes after several consultations with the party’s National Executive Committee.
Mr. Agyarko was born in 1956 in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region to Mr. Kwasi Agyarko, a Merchant and a United Party activist from Jamase in the Ashanti region. He had his elementary school education at the K.O. Methodist Primary School (Ashanti New Town) and the University of Science and Technology (UST) Primary School.
He proceeded to Mfanstipim School in Cape Coast on September 18, 1969 and went on to the University of Ghana, Legon in 1976. He studied Economics and Political Science, and graduated with B.A. (Hons) in 1979.
The Mfanstipim School Year Book for the class of 1974 described Boakye Agyarko as, “one of the most colorful students to climb the Kwabotwe Hills from 1969 to 1976”.
He completed his National Service mandate as National Coordinator of GUNSA, to which he had previously served as National Secretary and President in 1977 and 1978 respectively. He subsequently joined Management & Investment Consultants Limited (MANCONSULT), a private economic and management consulting firm in Accra junior economist from 1981 to 1984.
While in the United States, Boakye Agyarko earned an Advanced Professional Certificate in Banking from the American Institute of Bankers. He also earned an MBA with concentration in Finance from Pace University in New York City.
For the last twenty-two (22) years, Boakye Agyarko was employed as a Professional Banker at the bank of New York, the oldest bank in America where he rose to the position of Vice President and Head of Global Network Management for the Americans in the Investment Management and Services Division.

AKUFO ADDO APPOINTS CAMPAIGN MANAGER
The 2012 presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in consultation with the National Executive Committee of the party has appointed Mr. Boakye K. A. Agyarko, 54 as his campaign manager for the NPP 2012 presidential campaign.
Mr. Agyarko, who served as Nana Addo’s Campaign Coordinator in the NPP 2012 Presidential primary, is a founding member of the party and the first chairman of the North American branch of the NPP.
He was a vice president of the Bank of New York, USA until his resignation in 2007 to return to Ghana.
